Upgrade System

Visit the Item Upgrader NPC while your gear is equipped. The menu lists every upgradeable piece you are wearing, with that item’s own icon. Pick one, spend crystals, and the bonus stays on the item. Each successful upgrade raises its Upgrade Level by 1. Disenchanting a stat refunds part of the crystals — the rest is gone.

How to use

  1. 1. Equip a custom weapon, relic or upgradeable armor piece.
  2. 2. Talk to the Item Upgrader. Choose the item from the gossip list.
  3. 3. Add a new stat, or upgrade an existing one. Crystal cost is shown before you confirm.
  4. 4. Repeat. Upgrade Level ticks up on every success. Rings, trinkets and necks allow fewer stat lines than weapons.

NPC menu

  • Equip, then talk to the NPCOnly equipped, upgradeable pieces appear. Shirt and tabard are skipped.
  • Change NameRename the item (up to 45 characters). The custom name is what other players see.
  • Change QualityGrey through Heirloom. Color of the item link and tooltip border follows the new quality.
  • Add or Upgrade StatsStrength, Stamina, Crit, Haste, Spell Power and more. Once applied, a stat sticks until you disenchant.
  • Armor & BlockRaise armor on gear. Shields can also upgrade Block. Rings, trinkets and necks skip this.
  • Weapon DamageWeapons can raise min–max damage. Optional speed change sits on the same menu.
  • ResistancesHoly, Fire, Nature, Frost, Shadow and Arcane resist lines, each with its own crystal cost.
  • SocketsBuy or remove Meta, Red, Blue and Yellow sockets. Costs are set per color.
